Lunch with Rachel has raised 80 volunteer hours

Sometimes the most meaningful and inspiring conversations happen over casual meals. The Time Auction Blog is a snippet of our meetings with people who have found passion in their life and career, where we get a glimpse into their mentality behind their ventures.

As the president and senior partner of FleishmanHillard, Greater China office, Rachel has advised countless organizations and individuals on issues relating to product recalls, employee and labour issues, operational crises and so much more.

With over 25 years of experience in the corporate, financial and issues management field, Rachel spoke with us about how she found her passion in public relations and communications and her hopes for the industry.

What is your life motto?

Show respect to everyone. Being courageous, empathetic and creative.

What is one habit that has significantly improved your life?

Going to the gym. Being fit and healthy helps you think better and it can also give you a lot of strength to deal with challenges you may face everyday.

If you had to give one lesson on something unrelated to your current career, what would you teach?

One of the best things it gave me, unrelated to this career, was an understanding of the importance of discipline.

Discipline of mind, discipline of how you manage your time, discipline in dealing with others, discipline in how you live your life.

What is one action you want everyone to take away from meeting you?

The more you ask questions, the more you are curious, the more you want to get to the bottom of things — these are all key attributes of a great communicator.

Who is one person that you respect and you think would be really good to be on Time Auction?

I have a client called Katherine Yip and she’s a formidable business woman in the area of Edutainment and she has a wonderful story to tell!

Thank you Rachel for donating lunch and raising 80 volunteer hours to KOBUMI, Boys’ and Girls’ Club Association and more!
