A heartfelt thanks to our former volunteers
At Time Auction, we strive to maximize our impact and be fully accountable to all our stakeholders — our volunteers, colleagues, donors, supporters, featured guests, young adults and communities we serve. Hence, having the right people in the team is critical — our team of 2 full-time staff and 26 volunteers are our most important asset. In light of Mindvalley’s #SpreadLoveWeek, we’d like to take this chance to thank our wonderful team, as well as our former volunteers who have made significant contribution over the years.
David Wen, who started Time Auction in Canada and United States by first hosting live auctions in college, auctioning off products donated by companies to students with the highest pledged volunteer hours. The Time Auction website we use now is built by David, then a graduate fresh out of a coding bootcamp. David now lives in Canada working as a full-time engineer with many exciting ventures on the side, and has stayed on as our Advisor. Nothing would’ve been possible without this entrepreneur with a big heart!
Dennis Fong, our former tech volunteer has helped improve our website to be more user-friendly and created a lot of the automation functions, and has been a critical help during our days when Time Auction was still a side project. He has left our team in 2016 to focus on his work to make healthcare more efficient and effective with technology.
When Time Auction first transitioned from a side project outside of the founders’ day job to a registered charity, Craig Martin came on board as our donor and volunteer. Craig has dedicated over 100 hours to Time Auction projects and advised the team on international expansion. His team at digital agency Buildonauts — Content Marketer Kristeen Romero (who now volunteers for us) and Graphic Designer Winko Leung — has also been tremendously helpful. Effective on 28 December 2018, Craig Martin is no longer with Time Auction to pursue other interests and our team wishes him well.
It’s heartwarming to see the growth of our early student ambassadors who come into their own — we’ll always be grateful for Angela Lois, Alex Tran, Le Peng Tee, Edmund Kua, C.K. Mah, Rebecca Yeung who joined us in the first year.
Our impact is only possible with many kind, driven volunteers and generous donors and supporters behind the scenes. Thank you and as you read this, hope you also show some love to the ones you appreciate today ❤
